There are a number of options available to make a payment to your mortgage.

Paying by Direct Debit

For the majority of our borrowers, Direct Debit is the simplest and most effective way of ensuring their mortgage account is up to date. You can download and print a Direct Debit form. or request a form be sent to you by calling us on 0161 923 8030 or by email to mcs@themanchester.co.uk. Simply complete and sign the form, remembering to indicate the date you wish the payment to be collected, and return it to us at:

Paying by Bank Transfer

For payments made by electronic transfer, Standing Order, CHAPS or Faster Payment you will need to ask your bank to send the payment to:

Paying by Debit Card

To pay by debit card please call us on 0161 923 8030, with your mortgage account number and card details to hand. Lines are open 8:30am until 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Paying by Cheque

To pay by cheque, send a cheque from a bank or building society account held in your name to Manchester Building Society, Lending, PO Box 4255, Manchester, M60 3AT. Please make the cheque payable to: Manchester Building Society re (quote your 10-digit account number).

Here are details of all our standard Mortgage Fees.

If your Mortgage is still within an incentive period, please be aware there may be an Early Repayment Charge if you repay the mortgage within this period. You should consider the cost of this when considering your options.

If your product has an overpayment facility you can make overpayments each calendar year before the Early Repayment Charge applies. Please check your mortgage offer for details.

With our agreement, you could change the term of your current mortgage. The amount of your monthly mortgage payment could change as you will be paying your mortgage off over either a longer or shorter period.

In certain circumstances you may be able to rent out your house if you meet the qualifying criteria.

There is no fee for providing a duplicate statement.

We can provide a figure verbally (this will not be a final settlement figure) or an exact figure can be sent by post to you. There is no charge for this service.

We recommend you regularly check whether your mortgage rate remains competitive.

We confirm the interest rate applicable to your mortgage as at 31st December each year on your annual statement.

If you share the mortgage with another person and want to transfer the mortgage into one name, or if you want to add another name to your mortgage, then you will need to talk to us as you will need our permission.
